Volley-Vous+ is a Paris-based association currently bringing together 120 members aged 18 to 60. Our goals are:
- Promoting volleyball for women and gender minorities
- Combating all forms of discrimination and sexism
- Encouraging the inclusion of women and LGBTQIA+ individuals in sports
Volley-Vous+ provides a space for LGBTQIA+ people and their friends to learn and play volleyball at a net height of 2.24 m (the height used for so-called “women’s” divisions), from beginner to advanced levels, in both recreational and competitive formats. The association also actively advocates against all forms of discrimination, particularly those targeting LGBTQIA+ individuals, sexism, and racism.
Committed to welcoming, including, and supporting all individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community, the association is a member of the LGBT Sports Federation and the Paris Île-de-France LGBT Center. It is also a signatory of the Sport & Trans Charter, supporting trans individuals in their sports practice. To ensure the accessibility of the tournament and foster welcoming, collective moments, the organizing association has established an Inclusion Group. This group is responsible for making recommendations on inclusion, venue accessibility, kindness, and participant safety. To make the tournament accessible to as many people as possible, the association is dedicated to minimizing related costs (particularly accommodation in Paris). It has also created a solidarity pricing option for those unable to afford the suggested fee, achieved through financial partner support and the establishment of a solidarity fund.
Volley-Vous+ has chosen to organize this edition of the event with a focus on being as eco-responsible as possible:
- Reducing waste by eliminating disposable cups and tableware, and implementing systematic sorting
- Providing meals that prioritize short supply chains and local producers
- Offering perishable or reusable goodies
- Embracing a circular economy approach, including reuse and borrowing for material needs
- Encouraging sustainable transportation, such as public transit and cycling awareness
- Assigning dedicated volunteers to raise awareness among participants.
